Just a thought... but if wanted to save another hundred he could probably do 2 type R's.

$225 shipped for a hifonics brutus on ebay, 1000 watts.

Less than $250 shipped for two rype R's on ebay.

Thats just under $475 but im not sure how much he would have to spend on wires and a box.
