my friend wants to get some subs. He wants two 12's but nothing too powerful, he's

looking at alpine type e's if that is any hint. So he has 450 for subs, box, amp, wiring,

and shipping. Any sugg?????

Get 1 12" type r DVC 2ohm, then get a decent amp like a directed 1100d or maybe a hifonics mono amp.

Knukonceptz for wiring- good cheap wiring kits on site.

either pay someone on forum near you to make the box or make it yourself.

I had infinity Kappa Perfects all of them and they did sound good very power hungry and not too loud. You are gunna need more than 350 RMS

Thats the Reference series right? Those are teh bomb i had 2 in a ported box powered by a hifonics bx1000d and it was loud.

Hifonics TXi 5006 $175

Personally i think both those subs will outperform anything under the type-r from alpine. Memphis PR series are awesome entry level products along with the new diamond d3's.

The amp will put out exactly what you need, you can probably find it cheaper then 175 if you look.

The money left you can use to buy a box.

You can find much better for around 200$, just because something puts out the power it's rated at doesnt mean its a great amp. Sony is sony, for 200 you can find something way more reliable with more features, and something that will sound better. For example:

all of those besides the abahn and the ma will put out WAY more then 900w. I like getting amps that are rated high so i can leave some headroom just in case i upgrade. If you keep the gains low you will be fine. The best deals around (price per watt ratio) is most likely gonna be a Directed product (directed, viper, orion). I picked up my viper d1200.1 for around 225$ shipped and the amp is well known for its reliability and high power.
