okay so after researching and researching and researching im ready to just take the leap and buy an amp already. I borrowed my buddies aq2200 and im pretty sure this is the amp im going to go with. but i want to ask all your opinions one last time about what my final purchase should be.

I also don't wanna buy used I want to but new

I want sometime .50 stable and has nice power and good quality for $450 max.

Also. can someone link to to a thread or video that explains how linking two amps together with the "slave" and "master" settings works.

more more question. i know its about subs but why make another thread for a simple question my friend want to buy an x18 would a d2 or d4 be better? he plans on later on down the road getting two.

Got a friend selling 2 2200's, $300 each. He used them for a few months and is selling everything. If interested let me know and I'll give you his name as he has them listed on FB...

If he plans of running two later down the rd then he would want dual 4's but if he is not sure then he would want dual 2.. $300 bucks for a 2200 is a nice price better jump...

The amp you listed is a good one. Also look into the CT Sounds AT1400.1, as it's strappable and .5Ω stable and it meets your budget.

Strapping is like bridging a two channel amp with a few differences. You install an RCA between the master and slave, then you install a jumper between (usually) the negative speaker out terminals and lastly, you connect your subwoofer(s) to the positive speaker output terminals. If used, the subwoofer knob will be connected to the master and all gain, crossover and other settings will be done at the master amp.

For single sub setups, 2Ω coils will allow a 1Ω load at the amp but adding a second will limit you to either .5Ω or 2Ω final impedance. If your friend has plans to run a second amp along with the second sub, then dual 2Ω would work fine because once strapped at 2Ω, each amp would see a 1Ω load.
