Haven't had to seek out wisdom for awhile, so it seems the industry has changed with new players in the game!
One thing I've since learned w/my home setup is that when you get into higher quality sound, the HUGE wattage is not for volume but rather something more beautiful such as imaging, sound stage and overall depth and clarity.
I had that in mind when I took the Diamond Hex's 4 years ago, but my HU & Amp were garbage. I have a new Pioneer ready to replace the Alpine DVD player, which was zero emphasis on SQ, and the Kicker which was massive wattage but not the Kicker's of old I remember. And now putting the seat forward the cables on one side ripped the binding post assembly right off the chassis! Even a chunk of circuitboard came loose lol.
SO - the bottom line is, I'm surprised at how comparable in price a lot of the newer companies seem to be but my take is that these are lightyears beyond a lot of the 'top-ten' we're used to seeing all over, without using any names to offend the dedicated owners.
That said, these Hex require a lot of wattage to make them sing, much like my JM Lab's at home. Or I'll clip 'n cash them in no time. The music I'll listen to most will be jazz, steely dan, classical, lot's of acoustic...
Keeping it in the $400 range, anyone have any opinions on these? Thanks in advance and my specs are below.

90x4 @4Ω
D600.4 - Diamond Audio 4-Channel 600W RMS Class AB Amplifier $230
180x4 @4Ω
Crescendo Audio C1100.4 - 300 watts x 4 channel Concerto Series Amplifier $419.99
125x4 @4Ω
Sundown sax 125.4 - SSA Store - Sundown Audio SAX-125.4 Amplifier $470
SoundQubed Q4 120 4
SoundQubed Q4-120 4 Channel Amplifier - SSA STORE $250 (why so cheap??)
Anyways these are just 4 that caught my eye. Focal's are either too underpowered or too overpriced. I have all faith in that name from all my JM Lab speakers at home but maybe later lol.
Musical and SQ is everything to me!
