$400 Subs

Tryin to decide on 2 12s or 2 10s for my truck, I usually listen to rap and the occasional rock/screamo... Ive been looking at some used RE SX and SE but I dont know which of those 2 would be better or if yall wanna make any suggestions on some subs in that price range.

And space wise I truly doubt Ill have enough space for a ported box. I think I would be able to get something like 1.7 cubic feet of space per sub.

Thanks,

I'm really happy with an RE SE12, getting about 750 watts in a ported box. I don't have a correctly sized sealed box to compare to, but the SE is more than enough.

I think it depends on how much you can afford for your amp. Two SE 12's are gonna be happy on at least a 1500 RMS amp, which can start to get pricey. Two SX's...plan on 2400 RMS for two.

Plan your sub purchases accordingly.

Could see what Audioque has to offer for that budget...the DD suggestion was a good one, you might not need the extra options that come with the price though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Might want to consider Massive Audio CW's, they get just as loud as the SI mag's and are only $220 shipped with a warranty....plus if you ever blow them you can recone them yourself....try that with an RE product //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I know its a bit more than your target price, but if you save up $40 more it will be worth it for the warranty alone than just buying some used subs off of the classaifieds here.

IMO one of the most under appreciated subs in the market

I actually really like the look of the massive the blue lit logo is real tight. I just wish I had somethin to listen to and compare it to. I know I saw 2 Massive CWs on the used somewhere... but 220 isnt bad for that with a warranty. And amp wise, Im thinking 300-400, I sure as hell wouldnt mind spendin less but, I can set that aside. If I have that to spend on an amp what subs would be best. Once again I really only have the space for sealed... I think I guess Ill go measure it now.

Thanks,

Hope it works out for ya, but there is a sort of hump around the $200 mark that for a few bucks more you can get something nice like the Cw's ... You're right I beleive there is a thread with someone selling two of them, and since the warranty is a year on them (maybe two, i forget) its still a pretty good deal on them. If I was doing a daily beater id probably get 4 of the 15's myself. ... maybe for next season //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
