I'm looking for a SQ 10" sub in a sealed box, as well as an amp to match.

My budget is about $400, and I'm willing to bend a little bit if necessary.

And my budget will include the: sub, sealed box, and amp

Do you guys have any suggestions?

I was thinking maybe the Boston G5, but I'm sure there are a good number of 10's out there that I'm missing out on.

Thanks

Are you stuck on sealed, and are you stuck on a 10"?

A Phoenix Gold RSD12 in a 1.4-1.8cu.ft sealed, or a RSD10 in about a .8cu.ft sealed would have very good SQ, and they are cheap. You could get the sub for about $100 shipped, and that leaves you a good deal of $ for a good amp and a box.

And as tcguy said, the HO is a very good sub ported.

Or you could get a Phoenix Gold Rsdc 10". For $100. Then a Kicker ZX750.1 for the sub. Amp-$160. Then a sealed box should be under $50. This total comes up to $310.00. The sub box should be very small. The Rsdc likes around .4cu.ft.

im not stuck on sealed or a 10" , i just want to conserve as much trunk space in my IS250 as possible...so i figured sealed may be my best bet, then again sealed may not match up with some subs as stated

i've heard good things about Phoenix, bostons, and the JBL GTIs ... but how do they all match up to one another?

I've got an Alpine Type X 10" and an Alpine MRD-M1005 (perfect match for the sub) that I could do for $400 shipped w/in the Cont. US if you're interested. That'd just leave you with needing a box I guess. Great SQ sub IMO.

Oz audio just went under and Matrix Elites can be had for cheap if you know a distributor. Look into those. I've never heard a sub that was clearer (and I've heard many premium sq installs)
love those OZ ME subs!!!

the poor man's IDMAX //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have alpine type x tens and love them But I run mine ported

If you heard a PG Rsdc then you wouldn't want to get a IDMAX. I heard from many people that have a IDMAX and a PG Rsdc and they like the PG Rsdc more.
thats pretty impressive if its true. the Idmax's cost a hell of a lot more. PG must be making some good money again with the whole RSD line. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah I thought it was going to be a alright sub. So I bought it off ebay. Then when I hooked it up. I was completely amazed. This is one of the best sounding subs that I ever heard so far. And it gets pretty loud when sounding good.

fatboy - that deal doesn't sound half bad, but let me get back to you... i need a little more research and feedback to look into

Slammed & Mikey - got any more info on the OZ ME? You guys sparked my interest

There seems to be tons of people vouching of the PG RSDC, maybe this would be my best bet??

I have a Matrix Elite 10... Excellent Subwoofer! I've owned a lot of different subs (type r, xxx,, kappa, 3510, stroker, hx2, cvt, 11Ov2, 10w7) and it kicks ass... I was going to sell it at one point, but when people get in and hear my system i love to hear them say "I've never heard of that before, but I want one!". Would fit perfectly in a SQ system, but don't think it can't bring the noise! I'm actually looking for another 10... My buddy had a Power ME15... all i can say is... ****!
