I have a 2003 Tahoe and I’m trying to build a burp box for them I have a consistent 5996watts rms to them. 45ah Cmax 400 amp alternator two power runs voltage at 15.2-3. I have been peaking at 47-52 hz in the current two boxes I have with 152.92 and 152.26 out of either. what would be the way to go smaller then the recommended specs or larger for box what about port size small large it will be vent/vertical port not aero.

12 inch subs my error on that. Width is 48 inches depth 28-33 inches hight max 15 inches. Ports I’ve tried 5 7/8 by 10 and 10 by 10 both slot port behind second row stock class in usaci.

What kind of subs? How many cubes is your box or are you still building a box?

Trying to build a new box. They are massive audio hippo xlr 12’s as stated in first post. I have four 12’s and current boxes are around 8cubic feet two per sub.

How are you so sure about your 5,996 watts?

Computer modeling. First box was tuned to 33hz second 35hz

What does modeling look like if you drop internal space to 1.5 per sub with a higher tuning? Maybe 40-45 HZ. Do you know your cabin gain frequency?

Do you own an SPL meter? Why are you tuning so low if your peak frequency is 50hz or thereabouts? How much have you experimented with position of the box/subs/port(s)?

Really this is mostly going to be a job for trial and error so I'd encourage you to plan a box around being able to modify box volume as needed and modify the port as needed so that you can test all variables.

I'd bite the bullet and embrace the aero myself, size volume for your power and all but tune 6-8hz under cabin freq for big numbers.
Maybe ask someone who designs?
A properly designed aero box, designed for your power with tuning in mind may be your answer.
A 10" aero on a single 3" coiled 18 in a small SUV hit 152db plus consistently on my ranch.
It didnt need testing or any tuning. I just had to learn how to keep power around 3k (class).
Best advice is find your cabin freq and look to peak there. Then add power.
