I fail.
1. Product:

(4) Tantric MD 12's

2. Specs:

"750w" rms

D2's

2.5" 4 layer flatwound aluminum coil

Linear nomex spider

3. Description/Condition:

You can be the judge on how "used" they are as I only used these (4) for finals. Got them about a week prior, one night of testing and then off to finals. Maybe 20-30 burps on them?

In case you're wondering, I did 158.3 with these (4) in Stock 0-600w.

Don't tell Murph I said this, but the MD's are my favorite line. They just do it all. The get loud as **** for SPL and then you can drop them right into a daily and get low. I do 146ish in the 30's on 2k in my daily with the pair I'm keeping. In a 2 cubic foot, (2) 12" passive radiators @ 30hz SQ box. Lol.

They sound great in anything between 1.5-2cubes. (2) of them have black baskets and (2) of them have silver baskets. Make sure to let me know if you have a preference.

4. Price: :

$190 shipped each.

Trades are welcome. Offer up. keep in mind I'm an amp *****.

I dunno. I just found the SHD/TSNS comparison humorous. I guess you could ask the guy who designed them.

I don't think Thilo is easy to get hold of these days. It really does look like black to TRF/TSNS/Soundstream XXX/etc. etc. If they are useing reliable soft parts and don't pull the shennanigans that TSNS was known for they will go far with that lineup.

From what I've seen of the SHD it, at the very least, has changed the air flow pattern around the pole compared to a 4HP motor. The pole is angled on both sides at the top and it is solid once you go down a bit.

Plus it appears to have a massive under-cut on the pole -- which I don't think any 4HP variation that I've seen has. With all this in mind I simply don't feel like you can call the SHD a "4HP" variation as it's quite a bit different across the board. The similarity, to me, ends at them both being massive 4" coil motors.

It appears to me that Tantric is working on being pretty original with their work -- so I'm all for them doing well as a new brand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry for the OT just happened to be browsing and noted the conversation.

GLWS !!!

Thanks jacob..its always a comparison of motors these days and people dont understand who makes what. I really dont mind them comparing my shd to the original soundstream xxx or tsns motors since i was the engineer behind them both but what they fail to realize is this motor is a new improved design to what i built in the past... But I thank you for shedding some needed light in areas of design that are looked over by some others......and seeing as the 4hp and trf motors were designed by someone els after the ss xxx was designed i dont see how they would compare in any way both being solid platforms but performing differently....thanks again jacob

I was able to log in fine, using Chrome if that helps. I don't know anything about the product at all, just found the info and shared the love. :)

Brother in law has some of their 8’s and they are little beasts. Typical cookie cutter product that performs as it should.

Off the shelf design, nothing special and will sound like a bull horn. The best pro audio drivers I’ve heard are the crossfire XTpro6’s. The best...
