I am thinking seriously about getting 4 and wiring them to 2 ohms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

I have a rf bd 1000.1 that is rated at 1000 watts at 2 ohms. Will the re's handle 250 a piece in a ported box. Also will they be comparable to my rf hx2 15? I dont want to invest 200.00 in the subs and wood and them not be louder than my 15 because I can buy another 15" hx2 for like 125.00. I just did not want to go sealed for the 15's.

Thermally yes they will handle the power however the problems you run into with that much power going to the re8's is mechanical stresses. It will be very easy to bottom out at certain frequencies and eventually you will slam the suspension. Of course this would depend on the size of the enclosure.

if i were you try and feed each 8 150-200ish....250 just seems overkill imo, since, like stated above, you could run into suspension problems seeing as the clearances on the re8 aren't exceptionally high

Well it doen't look like I will be able to do it. 3 dvc 4ohm re's will be 2.67 ohms and even thought it not 2 ohms more like 3 I am sure the power will be the same if not more to 3 woofers than 4 at 2 ohms.

as I said in the other forums. don't send them that power. I personally wouldn't recommend anything above 175-200 watts each. and, that's basically what everyone else is also saying. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
