4 RD Sonance 12" SEALED vs. RD 5750.1

I hope you get enough low end out of that. Even with ported boxes tuned low I peak at 55hz in my truck. It may sound like there's a flat response, but put it on a meter and I'm 4db down at 32hz. I've tried hard the get a flat response on the meter from 30hz-60hz, but it's just too hard the get that low end response without making a huge box tuned low that'll be really efficient around tuning.

should be loud but why didn't you use mdf and i would think with those 4 subs i would do more bracing or double baffle it so no flex.

oh an seperate chambers that is such a noob thing to say dude no one does that anymore too much varibles you can lose dbs by doing that an maybe hurt something

Whats wrong with using birch?

Well.....

The Sonances sound amazing! They do still need to be broke in quite a bit, but none the less, I "think" they move more air than my Alphas did. I can actually FEEL the air blowing through the ski port A LOT more than the Alphas did. At the moment, they don't get quite as low as the Alphas did either. Anything 38-45 hz it hits very well. I think the 50s will perform best as I haven't played with it enough just yet. I am very happy though. The SQ is beautiful. Very accurate and they sound similar to my Realms that I had a while back (loved those subs). I can wait until I get 'em a little loose.

I couldn't get a hold of Steve to set the gains with the RMS and DMM, so maybe I'll figure it out real quick or if someone wants to jump in an help me out I would appreciate it.

Here are the final install pics and she's also a little dirty, which never happens. I'll post some vids in a few days once I get to play around with them a bit and do some tuning.

MDF will flex more than ply will. I love working with the Birch because it's less of a mess and so much lighter. This box doesn't flex at all.

looks sweet man, you going to stain that box or what? i love me some birch or oak. so easy to work with. i prefer it over mdf any day actually.
I think I'm going to leave this one natural man.

That's gonna be hella loud and sound good while doing it.

It gets louder every time I get in the car now. I REALLY need to get my deadening done too. Fvckin' trunk is starting to sound annoying.

Vids? And where can I order some RD Sonnance?
Give a dealer a buzz, or call Steve.

Looks good! Betcha it sounds better!
Wayyyyy better! I'll post vids this weekend once I get the 4k2d in.

Great build man. And its in a CLK? Thats crazy i bet it gets piss loud!
Yeah, it does. Especially after I deadend the trunk. It did a 143.8 on the TL, but I think I can get it over a 144. It's not a comp car, but definitely SQL. The acoustics in a CLK are so amazing if you've never heard one. Almost theater like in surround. I don't drive it enough to enjoy it though.
