Can you guys recommend a nice 4" component set for me. I will using them to replace my 4x6 dash speakers. Thanks
For convenience, yes. For performance you would be better off finding a stout little 4" driver that will produce better low midrange/high bass and sound much warmer. Tang Band has some great little 4" drivers with underhung motors that make very little distortion and have decent excursion capabilities. Look for the Bamboo or Titanium cones.Would you guys go with a 4" comp set over a set of 4x6s?
Have you checked your clearance under the 4x6 dash speakers? Many good 4" speakers will be fairly deep compared to 4x6 speakers. Can you guys recommend a nice 4" component set for me. I will using them to replace my 4x6 dash speakers. Thanks
I can't confirm or deny Tymphany(Vifa) has anything to do with CDT's speakers today. CDT sources parts from around the world for the factory in California. It is possible Tymphany makes parts for CDT, but I have not seen evidence that CDT Audio speakers are relabeled Vifas.Or Vifa since they OEM for CDT.
I have not checked the clearance, all I know is it's a 93 Chevy Silverado. But I can this weekendHave you checked your clearance under the 4x6 dash speakers? Many good 4" speakers will be fairly deep compared to 4x6 speakers.

The speakers I used to replace that style of Silverado dash speakers are very shallow. The air duct on the passenger side is right there when you pull the speaker. It's easy to get to it, but you may need to use a small ratcheting wrench on the speaker screws due to limited clearance at the windshield.I have not checked the clearance, all I know is it's a 93 Chevy Silverado. No, you're right. I'm sure those days are over and that's a good point to make. I was merely pointing out the other choices in the world and that old school correlation stuck out in my mind.I can't confirm or deny Tymphany(Vifa) has anything to do with CDT's speakers today.
