4" coils

The Memphis Madd Maxx 15" I had, I believe had a 4" coil. Also, the Lord Baccus version of the MOAB, 1 of 1 sub, custom built for my friend Brian(Lord Baccus) had a 4" coil and I believe it was 5 slugs at I believe 9" wide....but I maybe wrong.. It is F'en huge though..
Doesn't the Heavyweight and Super Heavy Weight use 4" coils?

Theirs a few of them out there.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, most subs use the 3" coil because daily...most people don't shoot 4000+ watts to a speaker..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif like I do...
Not to mention, there are downsides to running too big of a coil as well.

because Ng, everyone knows that 4" coils are the bestest and they pwn all other subs with smaller coils //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Only reason you'd need a 4" coil or larger is if you're throwing stupid amounts of power (5kw+ per sub) to the driver for an excessive amount of time (not just burps). Other then that, 3" coils are just fine for any other situation.

Some subs (the MTX 9500 comes to mind) are a waste of a 4" coil. They get stinky way before they're time and they just cant handle the power. Then there are the 4hp based drivers where the spider/cone/surround fail before the coil goes up in smoke.

LOL...I love reading all of your posts about TC or 4hp based subs.... they crack me up... Though I do believe you, even before watching your vids and your proof.
