4" coils

Only reason you'd need a 4" coil or larger is if you're throwing stupid amounts of power (5kw+ per sub) to the driver for an excessive amount of time (not just burps). Other then that, 3" coils are just fine for any other situation.
Some subs (the MTX 9500 comes to mind) are a waste of a 4" coil. They get stinky way before they're time and they just cant handle the power. Then there are the 4hp based drivers where the spider/cone/surround fail before the coil goes up in smoke.
when you are you gonna design a sub dan, i'm dying to test it.

With your lack of being able to retain a job, I doubt you'll be able to afford it.

Quite a few loudspeakers have 4" coils. I know 18 sound (f'ing awesome company) has 2 or 3 subs with them, Dayton has 1 or 2, and Selenium has one. Also the Morel UW1258 has a 5.1".

I had no clue the RF T2s had 4 inchers...
