4 L7's Common Chamber?

Hey guys, quick question... I got a box design from Fargof, it looks great but i am just wondering if there is any real disadvantage to running the 4 12" L7's in a common chamber box... the box is 11ft^3 and tuned to 35htz...

The only disadvantage is if 1 blows the other ones will hate it because they'll overexcurt, but that doesnt happen too much as you'll know if it does.

Nope, not that I know of.

if anything, i think it produces more spl & saves a whole bunch of wood....thats what i was told by some audio place...but im no expert on the common chamber thing

Say the 4 subs are seeing exactly 11 cubes. Each is seeing a little more than 2.75 cubes.

Not exactly sure how much, but thats how it works. You can test it by building 2 boxes, 1 with a single chamber, and 1 with 4 seperate chambers, all tuned to the same with the same amount of port area per sub.

The box with the common chamber of airspace will peak at a lower note, meaning that each sub is seeing more airspace than its 2.75.
