Are you infering that the 2 XXX's would be louder than the 4 type R's? Because I'm not sooo sure about that. I'm also not saying 2 12's can't be louder than 4, it's just a darn good percentage of the time the 4 12's would have much more of a displacement advantage, and all else being equal, there would be more spl capability.

yes i was refering that the XXX would be louder. And ur right most of the time 4 12's will be louder than 2 and u get more displacement, depending on sub of course. I dont know anything about calculating of displacement. Of course now its all in the install. theres too many variables to tell whether 4 12's will get liuder than 2 12's. That is very vauge. 2 ported 12" XXX's ran at RMS will sure as hell get louder than 4 12" Type R's ran at RMS. Thats the point im tryin to make
