4 gauge ok for AQ1200D?

I think it's uber dangerous to run that amp off 4-AWG. The amps it'd be pulling would be way more than the wire is rated for.

If you wanna risk it, then by all means, go ahead.

RMS current at full power (music) will be ~40A, might see minor voltage drop on peaks, but "dangerous"?? NO. Especially considering there will be a ~125A fuse at the battery.

It will be fine to use the 4 ga. on that. I'm running a nine.1 and a nine.4 (~1500 watts rms) both off a single 4 ga. from the battery, split to 4 ga. to each amp, with a 100 amp fuse at the battery and I've had no problems so far. But I also don't crank my system to the max or listen really loud for long periods of time, and I have good quality wire. I'm sure plenty of people here would condemn that, and I know it's not the best option, but I didn't feel like ripping out what was already there, and running 0 ga.

I have had 4 guage running to mine for about 2 months with no problems at all, the wire barely gets warm when playing full tilt for a while.

oh and btw, nice choice on the amp, its super efficient...
