4 ED9kv.2 vs. 1 12" Custom TC9

Sparks mean its working!
I am working out a possible trade. My 12" TC9 in exchange for 4 ED 9kv.2s. I'm going mainly for SQ, but I like the ability to get loud when need be.

Here's what I'm thinking:

TC9 pros: Simpler install. Nicer looking sub. I know it has great SQ because of its reputation and that's what I had it built for. I've flirted with the idea of letting it go before, but it's really grown on me. Also has never been installed.

ED pros: "Wow" factor of 4 8s. Should have more output with nearly twice the cone area. I've heard pretty good things about these subs as well. Even though they're used and no warranty, they look to be in pretty good shape. Also less mounting depth, which is good in my std. cab truck.

My car audio ADD keeps putting me in these predicaments. Someone help me out.

I am pleasantly suprised with the output of a single 9kv in my Jeep Cherokee. It is ported @32hz, and has good sq and gets fairly loud. Never had the chance to listen to a TC sub, however.

Are you looking at going ported or sealed? and depth is a big thing to consider...

I wouldnt hesitate to go with 4-9kvs, in fact that was my original plan.

I haven't heard the RL-P, but should be able to give you a comparison against the TC3K in a couple of days when I finally get my install finished //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They were louder and cleaner than my e15a though if that's any comparison...
