4 Channel Amp vs. 2 Channel + Monoamp

I was thinking of buying a pair of front mids and leaving the rear stock. I also wanted to add a 10" or 12" for the woofer.

Would it be better to have a dedicated 2 channel amp for the front and a monoamp for the sub OR have a 4 channel amp for all of them?

Any input?

You could get it done with a good 4 channel, and there'd be little, if anything given up by doing it.

Plus it would be cheaper, and the installation would be more straightforward.

The one drawback I can think of is future upgrades would be a lot less convenient.

or if the amp goes bad the whole system is gone

you can always use this 4 channel to power 4 doors for future upgrade and get a more decent sub amp and upgrade sub

best to get amp 25% to 30% more power than sub rms since your eletrical most likley is not 14.4 so most amp will run lower than spec. Sub can take a little more if your amp puts out spec wattage.
