i have an mrp-f450 4 channel amp.

Channels 1 and 2 are runing my two front speakers

my friend got new subs and gave me his old twelve.

how can i run this sub off of channels 3 and 4? can i just use speaker wire and connect the positives ends of 3 and 4 together to put to the positivite of the sub and the same wiht the negatives or do i need to wire thigns differently? i cant seem to get it to work.

u shoulde be able to bridge it where it says bridge going acros the bottom of the speaker connecter u put one in the positive and one in the negative (1 in positive of channel 1 and one in the negative of channel 2) for 100rms at 4ohms... what ohm is the sub(what type of sub is it)

ok so i was fiddling wiht it.

its a memphis 12 inch sub im not sure sv or dcv or w/e how can i tell?

i was running it on just channel 3 for now i will try the way you guys mentioned.

while in the process of getting this going i ran into another.

i used to be able to crank my speakers up pretty loud but now they start to get distorted at around 35 whereas before they would go up to like 50

and they also have alot of bass coming out of them with my hpf settings on. and the sub running at like 63hz i think it said on my deck.

could it be a possibility that the speakers are routed through the subwoofer outputs somehow and think that they are subs or is this normal when adding a sub?

i appreciate everyones help.

ok how you tell if a speaker is DVC or SVC you must take it out of the box and look to see. If it has two speaker terminals it is DVC only one SVC. So I assume you are running your front speakers off the amp? If that is case make sure you gain is set properly and also make sure all the crossovers on the amp are right. You might also want to make sure your RCA from the CD player front output to the front input of the amp. Make sure your sub is out on the deck and in on the back channels of the amp. You do have 2 different RCA cable correct?

ok ill have to take a look at that. yes speakers are off the amp. the bridging thing you guys said worked and its a little louder now thx.

The subwoofer is on out on deck and in on amp yes. and yes i have two sets of rcas (4 in total)

The Descendant what the hell do u keep posting, u've posted on like every ones page with a picture that doesnt work and a stupid saying?! ftw?!

and ya your sub probly wont get that loud with only 100 pushing it if u like the bass maybe look into getting larger 4channle amp of a mono block just for ur sexy sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
