4 channel amp line out ?

hello im trying to paln my system my head unit has only two pre out fornt and rear/sub i have these hooked up to the 4 channel amp now i want to *** a sub amp do i just use the line out on the 4 channel or do i have to split the front rca so that the head unit sub woofer on feature is turned on
