Here are specs for subwoofer: I have two of these.

Kicker 10C124

12" 4-ohm subwoofer

power handling: 50-150 watts RMS

peak power handling: 300 watts

here are the specs for amp:I have one of these.

Kicker IX500.4

4-channel car amplifier

75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (125 watts x 4 at 2 ohms)

250 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

Will this work together and provide solid bass? any suggestions greatly appreciated!

The amp is for speakers not a sub so not really you need an amp that gives 400-500 watts rms st 2 ohms

Thats what I was afraid of. The amp is online for 150 and I have been tossing around the idea of getting it. The speakers are stock speakers, should i still invest in the kicker amp then?

That's up to you but if speakers are stick I'd say no I think there's a small kicker amp here that will fit your need. Hit up [MENTION=1010708]Louisiana crx ;

Your 4 ch is PERFECTLY fine for subs. Before mono's were an option everyone used bridged 4 ch's for a pair of subs. Don't know why people think it's such a bad idea now. It's even better that the Kicker's a class D which is the main advantage of (class D) sub amps over vs a/b multi-channels.

With the amp bridged and the gains set a little on the low side that amp will push those subs to their limit.

I'd get a ppi p900.4 instead. Its bandpass capable and has way more power than that kicker can even dream of producing.

Test for true power...

Just wire the subs straight to the rear channels and use the front channels for a nice pair of component speakers. Should be more than enough to push those subs.

It can. But it will take some things to make it work. Plus you'll need to line match the gains. Which I think you may not know how to do that's why I said not really in my first post This amp is really made for speakers not subs But none the less can be used if needed

precise gain matching isn't critical. Obviously you want them close, but it's not going to have any considerable effect if they're off a few percent.

If you're buying new, clearly a mono would be the way to go, but since the amp's already there I see no good reason to buy something else.

I would keep the amp you have and keep the components. Place the components in some universal door pods, and look at getting a powered SAS 8"...
