4 8's sealed vs 2 12's sealed?

So i am looking to take on a small project, Which do you think would have more out put. Two 12's sealed at 2.0 cubic or 4 8's sealed at 2.0 cubic feet. Both setups will get 3000 rms..

Only issue is finding 8's that will take that power..

The two 12's will have slightly more cone area than the four 8's, but not enough to likely make an audible difference. The four 8's will have twice as many motors to absorb/dissipate heat, so they will combat power compression better. But 8's generally come with smaller motors, less excursion potential, or both. So its a pretty close call over all. Install/budget considerations will likely be the deciding factor in which would work out better for you.

Ive never done a 8 setup, so very intrigued. My plan was to run 4 Sound Splinter RL-i8, 500 rms tc2 based and 20mm of xmax. But they dont make them right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
