Blah it doesn't matter. The only place it really would matter is if there was something underneath it. As long as it cuts all the way through, put it at whatever depth you want.... Look really good man!!!! 15 BTL in a truck, your crazy!!! I only wish I had the room to do that ::jelious::Damn. You have that set way too low man. The blade should only go past the wood by about 1/4". Adjust that bad boy.
Making the depth shallow will decrease kickback, which is always a good thing.Blah it doesn't matter. The only place it really would matter is if there was something underneath it. As long as it cuts all the way through, put it at whatever depth you want....

I'm not trying to start a fight but if you use the saw properly, kick back isn't an issue. Really it doesn't matter, to each his own, lol...Making the depth shallow will decrease kickback, which is always a good thing.

I was just saying what the manufacturers always recommend, personally I've never had a problem with kickback either.
I had crazy kickback with mine until I set it to 1.25". I don't remember what it was set to before but I couldn't make cuts longer than about 15" long without kickback. It was really frightening actually.
