4.25 cu ft net (4.25cu ft not including port volume and sub displacement) would be decent.

4.25cu ft gross would be on the small side

im assuming you are talking about a pair of 12's

Yea a pair of 12s.

They are going in my 2003 impala.

Perfect fit for two Type R's(tuning wise), they sound the best at around 33-35 hz Going to a lower frequency would smooth the peak out of the response.
