Hi, i have a small car and i installed 2 15" subs in a ported boxes fixed in the trunk and directed toward the rear of the car. I want to add 2 more 15" subs on the back seat of the car. Should i go with a sealed box? that i would have sealed+ported boxes, so i can play very low frequencies+ a good punch....due to the ported. Or should i add 2 ported boxes placed on the back seat and directed toward the front of the car? the air going out from the ports will be hitting the front seats and i am affraid that this wont give me good results as the 2 boxes in the trunk. I know that ported boxes should be placed in a compressed area( trunk and directed toward the back..etc..) What do u think, and thx a lot

If you have a small car why do you need that many 15's in the first place. Hearing damage is not your friend! With that little speech out of the way, I'll give my input. If you run some subs sealed and others ported you'll end up with a VERY uneven frequency response. Really strange and large overlaps, basically it'll end up sounding really bad. Plus you'll be louder overall (seems to be your goal) if you go ahead and port all of them.

The car is a volswagen golf mod 1989,2 doors, so its a small car and beleive me 2 15" clarion subs are not enough for me.The subs are PA-15S rated at 300rms each, they are single voice coils, i used to have the xw-1500 rated at 600rms each and they are DVC, the smaller subs are better and more powerfull dont ask me how,cz i dont know:)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.this is my setup for the time being: 2 15" subs powered by a clarion amp APA4320 ( 4ch amp). i have 2 coaxial ovale speakers in the rear. 1 set of components SRS1751HX in the front and another just behind the front seats, fixed on the sides near the back seat. The subs+coaxials speakers are in the back( the car is a hatchback).I need more bass:D:D thats y i wanna add another set of 15" subs. Thx

I'm probably not your best source for info seeing how i'm fairly inexperienced compared to the rest of the guys on this forum, but what i recomend is selling your two 15's and your amp and upgrading to 2 new 15's and a better amp. If your on a budget my recomendation would be 2 kicker comp vr 15's. they do get pretty loud, and you can pick them up for around $120 each off of ebay. I can't remember there exact rms but i believe it is around 500-600 each. then i would look for a decent mono amp. I have a hifonics 1205D and it isn't the best amp in the world i'm sure, but i love it. so hifonics is one brand of many to look at.

oh and deff. port them in a nice box. I hope this helps some
