4 12's or 2 15's?

Which would be louder the 12's would be something along the lines of a Type-R, L7, SX or something in the same power and performance range. And the 2 15's would be 2 AQ HD3's. Either setup would be ran off 2 AQ 2200's.

I say 2 AQ 15's and a pair of 2200d's. Type r's will be loud but power handling will always be a concern.

Off of those amps, id run the 4 12's in a big ported box. Probley DC Lvl 4's though, if it were me. Have you looked into any of those.

reason i ask is because I already have 2 15" AQ HD3 15's on 2 AQ 2200's and it is loud as hell, especially for a daily driver, but I have always had 2 15" sub setups and would like to try something new. I just do not want to change out unless I know that I can maintain the same SQ and SPL.

I know that the 4 12's can get louder with the right 12's and right box but will they sound as good for the same price and will they take the power as easily?
