4 12 or 2 15 same amp

I got an mahk4000d and im really close ot purchasing my subs. I know theres more conearea with the 12;s thats obvious of course. But what you think would be better for pounding. im looking at anyhwere from 2500-3000 from the amp after i get my new alt and add another battery. so 412;s should ruffly be seeing 650-750 rms for each. The 2 15;s will be sing 1250 to 1500 RMS. THis is gonne be in a huge *** box probably around 12 cu ft tuned to 36Hz. Im goign for straight wangage. Just les power more usbs or 2 big subs with mor epower. See what everyone has to say. im a ****ing horrible typer.

Well you admit you understand the four 12's would have more cone area, so assuming we are comparing apples to apples here (12's and 15's of same brand/model... so excursion, power handling and efficiency would otherwise be the same), the 12's would have more potential to get louder. *shrug*

my vote goes for the 4 12s also. but the 15s would be nice also. its a toss up. go wit the 15s
