If a Camaro doesn't corner like a vette, its crap. And if a vette isn't the best super car on the planet currently, its crap too. I think some people will bitch no matter what GM does. Like someone else basically said, if its not a civic, it must be crap, right?

 
Oh, and they made 6 cylinder versions of 69 Camaro's too guys. And without having driven a new Camaro, I can still almost guarantee they handle better than the stock suspension on a 69 'maro. Bigblock plus positraction versus computer controlled traction control? Riiiiight. In case you haven't noticed, most high-dollar nice 69 Camaro's these days have updated rack and pinion steering from late model cars, aftermarket frame stubs to reinforce their notoriously weak unibody construction, etc. I love 69's as much as the next guy, but some of you dont seem to have realistic expectations of what you are comparing the new Camaro to.

 
And guys, there is more to consider than just the V6 having 300hp; it is lacking on torque and makes its power higher up in the RPM range, not to mention the weight. I've heard the V6 in person. It sounds like a ******** engine.

The SS runs 12.95's in the 1/4, show me another completely stock car that can do that for $37K.
The best time ever recorded by a 4th Gen LS Camaro was a 12.8, 03-04 Cobras can get in mid to low 12's, C5 Z06's can get into the 11's.

Those are all with pro drivers tho.

None of those are new, but you get the idea. It can be done, but not by a whole lot.

I never said anything about me creating car designs. They could have made just as much of a "buzz" if they would have came up with their own designs. The original is the one that is the real "headturner" Most people, if they saw both of them driving down the road, would pay way more attention to the original than the "New" version. If you really want a car that looks like an extremely popular car of yesteryear, than buy that car, not some new car that "looks" kinda the same. It's like a kit car, it looks like the original, but you're still a poser if you buy one.
Have you ever daily driven a car built in the 60s? The cheapest Kia in world has features it doesn't have.

Until you have driven a manual steering with four manual drums, then you won't quite understand why one would like to have the design of a 60s car with the features of today. The orginal Mustang was built to last 5 years....Hell, they didn't even paint the inside of the cowl. Well fvck me if I'd like to buy a car that looks like a 67 with quality build construction.

a couple posts below the one you quoted, I say how I understand people would want the modern conveniences in a daily driver.

I wouldn't ever buy an older car for a daily driver. I like having more than one car though so if I did get an older car, and I want to, It will only be driven a few times a week for a couple months of the year. Since I don't have to drive it every day, I can live without all the ammenities of a newer car.

GM announced today they'll be heading to bankruptcy court. Couldn't seal the deal on the offer to the bondholders for $0.04 on the dollar with a 10% equity stake. Can't blame those bondholders of $27 billion.

UAW secured a 17.5% stake for health care funds. How they thought bondholders would take 10% is beyond me.

An earlier arrangement by the Treasury had the UAW at 39% equity, the Gov't at 50% and the rest up for grabs among bondholders. That got shot down pretty quickly
