hey guys.I finally sold my amp now im in the hunt for compoents and amp.my budget is as posted in the subject.Ive heard my brotheres cdt ef carbon fiber set and to me there just to neatreal sounding.I listen to rock and it was just to laid back sounding to me.some people have suggested the crystal set to me,but then some have not.Basicly my budget is about 200 max with shipping.I like musical sound speakers.I cant seem to find any local shops that carry anything that ive been lookign at.All i have is best buy which i listened to there infinity ref speakers.thanks.

Before I can make any recommendations to you, I first need you to more clearly state what your desires are. "Neutral" sounding wouldn't be a bad thing, neutrality in a speaker means that the sound that they reproduce is as close as possible to the sound that was originally recorded.

Which CDT EF set was it? I have an EF set for sale for $200 which I'm willing to part out. That would leave you enough left over to get a pair of better tweeters, which are the part about CDT I don't like. The 'laid back' quality of the tweeters is NOT neutrality, but rather a horrendous little downward slope on the highs.

Tell me, was your brother running a subwoofers? I personally don't like the steep rolloff most of the EF drivers have after 80hz or so. A subwoofer would easily remedy that, though.

Edit: I am incredibly fond of my Elemental Designs midranges. You should look into them.

thats alot of recemendations.What i mean with my brothers set is i dont know it ust doesent seem aggresive enough.I dont like the tweets there too melow.Ive been doing some research and it kinda seems that mb quart and focal fit into my range.So i dont know i really wish i could just go listen to them,but i cant.O well.I like the mids in my brothers set but the tweets deff not.

what amp?Im looking for a 4 channel for i can power the front stage and then bridge the 3 and 4 channels to the subwoofer.

i think you should spend the money on Sound Deadening material, not enough people spend there money in that department then worry about speakers. i wish i had done that
