31" woofer!

I was looking at speakers on madisound when i came across this, its a $2400 31" woofer! how do you think it sounds? muddy?

What's the point of a sub that big? Subs less than half that size can cause severe hearing damage so why even bother making one that big?

They are a marketing gimmick. People will buy them. "Look, my sub's diameter is twice your sub's diameter!"

Geesh - I think pyramid would even reject something like that.

.09 xmax is laughable. If you take a 12" with .5 xmax the displacement is within 20%. A good quality 15" would blow that 31 away.

What a joke.

Clarion built a monster a few years back. Audiobahn has one too.
