This is my first attempt ever at any kind of install, and I have help, so the only errors I will make is my call on the equipment. The car is getting a new radiator today and pics will be uploaded en masse as soon as I get my beast back.

I have some new stuff, but budget constraints force me to use some old junk I had left from my old car until I can get really stupid.

First off...here's the starter build....

Pioneer DEH-980BT Head Unit

2 Alpine Type R SPR-13C 5 1/4 inch 270W door speakers powered by a 200W Kenwood KAC-606 amp

2 Orion Cobalt CO12 12 inch 400W subs powered by a 300W Pioneer GM-X702 amp. Subs to be installed into a custom built well box for late 1990's Camaro.

Again this is only the starting point, I just got the car running good and now it's time to get the monster sounding good. The GM factory system has got to go! The install starts Saturday, Aug 22nd.

Here is the car before anything is installed....

Here is the old parts that are going into the car. Items are Pioneer GM-X702 amp rated at 300W peak and a Kenwood KAC-606 amp rated at 200W peak.

CO12 12 inch Orion Cobalt 400W subs. I bought all this new in 1999.

The sub box is now empty and available if anybody needs a 3/4 inch sealed box. Dimensions are 30" wide, 14 1/4" tall and 14 1/2" deep. Very large guage Tsunami leads are about 4 feet long.

If nobody wants it, It'll make a great cat toy.

Now for the new equipment....

Pioneer Premier DEH-980BT Head Unit, 2 Alpine Type R SPR-13C 5 1/4 inch door speakers rated at 270W peak. Custom Sub Box.

I'm not pulling the sub box out of the packaging until time of install.

Sorry about the lack of pics for the first post. All has been corrected. I will add the next batch of pics to document the install. Wish me luck! Any advice before Saturday's project is appreciated.

It rained just about all day here in in Maryland and I had no access to an enclosed workspace...so I took the lazy way out and dropped $300 at the local audio shop and had it professionally installed. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow as well, so I threw in the towel.

I may have missed an opportunity to learn something new, but the installer told me that the 4th gen Camaro is not a good car for an amateur to tackle his first project with. The good news is that I got a quality install and I wont ever worry that I screwed something up. Those 10 year old Cobalts still sound great!!!

If the sun ever comes out, I'll take some pics.
