i had the es620's... they didn't produce alot of midbass. they sound killer though with classical and acoustic tunes. for heavy metal they ****. they will get loud as hell, and take plenty of power. i had a DLS A3 going to each door. could handle any power you throw at them...

Do you have your doors well deadened? I have heard the ES series and they have a very nice punchy midbass.

had them deadened all to hell and back. put about 100 pounds to each door... no lie. these speakers just don't cut it for death metal. had good DLS power to them too... good ac dqx 30 band eq going to them aswell...

Not sure if they will fit but the Usher 8495P's sound good from what I have read. The Alpine xt19s are great tweeters if you can find them. Vifa makes the tweeters but it will be hard to find those. The xt25's can work also but I've heard that those will need a tad bit of EQ-ing.

If you want to use the passive xovers you are pretty much stuck with car stereo brands. If you go active, you can buy the speakers seperately for much cheaper - ex CDT = rebadged Vifa, Alpine F1 top ofthe line = scanspeak.

i'd say the opposite about the pioneer 720's.. i luv the tweeter but the midass is lacking imo
