Dude, check out the most exspensive 6x9s at any best buy by sony. Crank them up and buy em coz they jamb dude! I am putting two in my car this saturday and they crank!

On a serious note - the Germs or TS-C720PRS would be excellent choices for this price range, IMO.

Or these, if you can up your budget a little.

Yes, I've heard every speaker at Best Buy. And I wouldn't ever buy any of them nor recommend them since they sound like crap. There's plenty of better choices out there for the same or less price-wise than what the big box retailers charge.

At any rate, welcome to CA.com. Stick around for a while and you'll soon realize that Sony speakers, subs, amps, and just about all of their HU's are just shy of worthless.

Hmm, well for the same price what would you recommened in the 6x9 size? Id love to check out what you believe is best if I can. Would custom sounds or any other local stereo place have them to play and see how they sound?

Pioneer D series or REVs

Polk db and Momo

RF T series

Boston Acoustics

...the list goes on and on.

Anyway, I wouldn't get 6x9s for the front when a 6.5" comp set will likely allow for better performance and open the door for more variety to choose from for a given budget.

I have heard boston accoustics but they are atleast double the price?

And I have to go with 6x9 as I don't want to go the bracket route.. Atleast not till after I have built my first basic system.

i would save your money and wait. start your system off right when you can properly afford it.

Brackets aren't any harder...it definitely won't turn your install into an "advanced" job...it'll still be down there in basic. You move up to "advanced" when you spend days sound deadening and filling every creavise with expanding foam trying to fully insulate your car.

i would save your money and wait. start your system off right when you can properly afford it.

first... i have exstensive experience in car audio. this isn't my first rodeo.

second... this is my girl's car.

for me... i run helix, dls, and zapco for power. front stage: dual focal k2p drivers per door with image dynamics cd2 neo comp compression drivers. subs: idmax 12's

lets keep this on topic. i came here because i don't know what comps to look for. i normally have a much larger budget to work with. i refuse to spend my own money on my girl's ride. that aint pimp'in...
