Hey, i have 3 questions for you, first off, what size fuse would i be best running for this setup, i have 2 of these subs... http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=piotsw33c and one of these amps... http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=piogmx962 And my second question is, what would be the best way to wire the speakers to the amp to get the best out put? The last question is, if i am using a 4 gauge power wire, should i run a 3 gauge Negative wire too, or is 8 gauge okay, because i have a 8 gauge neg. wire right now, please let me know, thanks

thanks, i just got the subs, box, and the amp for 150, ill post pics once i get everything done, do they sound decent?? right now i have both speaker wires going to one output on the amp, is this safe i need to know the best way to wire the subs up?? also, where in Illinois do u live about, im gonna be moving out there in the summer, to the glendale hights area to goto UTI

I'll answer te questions backwards.....you should run the same gauge ground as positive, its a circut, and electricity has to flow through all of it. The best way you can wire those subs (i am pretty sure they are svc, 4 ohm..right?) is leaving each on its own channel. +1 to +1, -1 to -1, +2 to +2 and -2 to -2 ......you get 125 rms power into each sub that way, its pretty much your only option. And pioneer doesn't seem to specify what size fuse, im guessing, but if you ran 4 guage wire (15-20ft i assume) a 40-45 amp fuse should be fine...mabey even less with that amp.

you bought $35 subs, dont expect much from them. Runn both subs into 1 ouput is creating a 2 ohm load for the amp, so the subs getting 190 watts TOTAL....less than 100 each.....btw i am out in St. Charles, pretty close to gendale.

alright, thanks alot, i wasnt expecting a crazy system for that money, i just wanted something i could use as i upgrade, i put a 30 amp fuse in it today because thats all my local car audio dealer had, but they gave it to me for free, it blew pritty easy, are u sure a 40 amp fuse would be okay? i was wondering why the subs werent doing that much the way i had them wired, although i dont expect much more the other way, ill let u know how it turnout tomorrow, if i can find a fuse!

how quickly? did it blow during normal playing, or instantly when you connected power? If it blew instantly something is shorting (two wires are touching somewhere) if it blew during play, the amp just wanted to draw more power. No i am not sure that 40 will do it, its an educated guess....its better to blow 2 or 3 $5 dollar fuses to find the right amperage then to just jump up to an 80 and damage the amp or your wiring. I would probably start with a 45, if it blows, go up 5....or just call pioneer and see what they say, they know more about their products than i do.

alright, thanks again, it didnt blow as soon as i turned it on, it was going, and when i cranked it a little, it blew, ill go buy a few fuses to find the right one tomorrow, thanks again

If you would go to ported, then you would gain alot more. Put them in about a 1.5 cubed box,. If you tell me what kinda car you drive, i can help you tune it. I live in the same town as bumpin_8605 and his sound pretty good and he only has about 100 watts goin to each sub. He has the same amp as you, but it is only the 200w. He just bought a Profile 400. Those subs sound really good for the money.
