3 re XXX, amp suggestions

Ok My buddy is gettin rid of the axis's and I think he will be gettin 3 12" RE XXX, probabley the new ones. He needs 3 2000 watt amps at 1 ohm, or what are his options. Amp suggestions. He wants to stick with a single alternator setup, and these will likely go in an ext cab silverado. I told him he's gay to go with 3 cuz 4 or 2 would make this much easier. He's pressed to do daily 150 on music and make it still sound decent.

i wouldnt use xxx's for his goal, but im sure its reachable with them i just think there is better out there for the money/his goals.

really? Well he isn't impressed with the AXIS's he has, and wont be goin back with them do to their shitty customer service and lack of getting parts for em.

Whats a good combination for loud and sq than. I thought he would be happy with the xxx. They are sooo sexy

they are amazingly sexy, and they are an amzing SQL woofer that will get loud and sound great. but i dont see them getting that loud, and to be totally honest with you anyone trying to hit the 150 club is worried about getting loud, not getting loud and sounding great. they just wanna get super loud...and when your trying to hit the 150 club you cant expect you setup to hit 150's and still be able to play fast paced techno and sound like an SQ vehicle. i would shop around a bit and read some reviews on some other stuff before you put all your money into the xxx's. and dont get me wrong they are amzing woofers, but i dont think they would be right for this application. im just throwing my opinions out there but i dont wanna see someone put all there money into a build to only be dissapointed in the end. i have done that with myself a couple times and its no fun.

Its def a tough competition in order get get loud and sound **** good. I guess mainly tho he just wants to ba able to sound good at most notes and freqeuncies.

He's mainly playing rap and loves the lows. I think the nightshades would do the trick for sure but how is their sq. I def. don't want us building this for a couple months and him not be happy. Any suggestions would be great guys. Thx

i think the nightshades would be a great option. i have heard they sound good and hit monsterous lows...i will find out soon

Nice man. Are you going to use them than? Also did ya ever sell yur truck. I go by Greenville on the way home from Ferris all the time. I should stop by and check out yur setup sometime.

well dont stop by yet...lol...i just sold my truck last thursday and just bought an 05 grand prix gt. its nice and gets alot better gas mileage. my whole setup was sold and i just now purchased my new setup. im real excited about it, and i bought 2 15" nightshades that were blown and they will be getting fresh recones put on them in about a week. they will be powered by a 3000d at .5 ohm, supported by 2 kinetik 2400's and im saving up for an HO alt right now. just piecing together my front stage now and the install will hoepfully begin shortly

lol, dude thats going to be nice. How are you configuring that in the car? Waht will that 3000d do at .5? That setup should be nice for sure. When you gonna be done? Def will check it out. I was actually thinkin of swappin out my hdc3's for 2 nightshades.

haha, yeah for sure man. 150 and sq aint easy. 2 15's would be nice. I like 15's but he's not a fan. I personally think he's bias to his own opinions. For some reason he likes 12's better. WTF. esp when 15's will give you better lows. Let me know when you want to sell that amp, or give me a price. It would be a good amp for him, but not sure what subs would match up with it and do a 150 daily off it. I mean I think I'm close but he wants to go another route than the hdc3's. Esp being in a truck it should be easy to get loud

Stetsom 7kd 16v should power them pretty easily. whatever you go with.

he dont want 16volt if that what 16v means. Also if he went with the re he would have to go 1.3 ohm I think. Otherwise what about the MT. Suggesttions for subs if you dont think the xxx's will do it.
