Hi

I can get some pioneer subs, for really cheap and want to do some experiment, i have an audioque a1200D, the subs area rated at 400W but the amp don't have the 1600W the 4 subs needs, but 3 subs will have a load of 1.34 ohm, so which set up will be less underpowered.

The system if for car show with 3 subs, i can make it work in a MDF box the way i want to install everything, but with 4 subs it has to be fiberglass to accommodate the subs, so this is another variable in the system, everything else will be the same and the box will be sealed.

AQ is slightly underrated.

Do 3 and go ported, It would be louder than 4 fiberglassed and sealed.

I can't fit 3 ported. That was my first option, but i have to take a lot of space that i can't cause of the other things i'll try to fit in.

I have about 5.25 cu.ft brute to work with in MDF, and little more on fiber glass. I would love to fit the 4 subs on MDF but leght is an issue i have only about 44-45" so 4 subs wont fit, that's why i need to do fiberglass for 4 subs.

you got an explorer, i'd hope you can fit 3.

I can't fit 3 ported. That was my first option, but i have to take a lot of space that i can't cause of the other things i'll try to fit in.

you should be able to do 4 ported. mazzasec has 4 RD Alpha 12s in his explorer ported.

3 ported should leave a god bit of room...

Yes i can, but as i stated in the first post the system is for a car show, i have to fit amp racks, a minibar, and some other stuff back there. That's why i cant fit then.

Is not about the best sub, is about a really nice install, besides, you would be surprise how nice this subs sounds for the price, i know from experience. You wont find a better sub for the price.

My problem is not how much, cause i'll get here, i just import things when they are for my daily driving, but this is for just a few days, and i dont want to spend much.
