Out of curiosity what's the difference between shapes as far as performance or specs?

Also didn't these all have LA style baskets (removeable with the 4 small bolts in the sides)? Not seeing the bolt holes in the pics.

I havent don exact comparrisons on one vs another actually only ever used the tall skinny ones

I bought 6 of them direct from lightning audio on ebay like 6years ago for 35$ each brand new. And made the mistake of selling them now they are impossible to find.

The bnib ones didnt have the holes for the other basket on th edge of the top plate either

Quote from Kyle @TC Sounds about the different size motors:
Oh... performance is nearly the same, what happened we our vendor CNC'ed our steel incorrectly for the t-yoke case and we ordered thousands so we couldn't really throw away these parts and they refused to eat the cost so we had to make em work so we re-designed the taller more narrow magnet for the incorrect t-yoke case parts. In your picture, the original design is on the right (red frame), and the altered design is on your left (black frame) Both perform just about the same.
The magnetic force is not directly always related to size because its a non-linear field. You need area so the narrow magnet needs to be much thicker to equal the wider magnet, they are FEA'ed to produce identical magnetic field density.
