3-4 weeks for a recone??!!

I currently have a 12" Fi Q that I was thinking about getting reconed due to some cosmetic scuffs and a little slit in the foam surround. I just found out, it could be 3 weeks or so before it could be done. I was hoping to have everything installed by then. Maybe I should buy another sub, then sell this one?

fi takes forever to get their products out. they usually only build recones one day out of the week. ftmfl

just hit david up and pink star industries, i bet he can get you some nice recones within a week or so

They have a very high demand because they do very good work with the parts that were designed for the driver. Not to mention, it takes longer to tear down a driver, clean/prep, rebuild than it takes to build new.

Splaudio(Corey) did great work on my recone for my SA-10. Great communication and nice looking work.

I talked to Corey last week and he didn't have parts for my sub at the moment. I would try it myself but I don't want to take a chance at f-in it up.

If you order a drop in from corey it's much easier than assembling the sub from scratch. All you need to do is glue the surround and spider (not hard). The only thing that requires some skill is soldering the leads onto the terminals

but what about shimming and all that? How should the cone/spider be held down so it makes good enough contact?

clips like close line clips will wrk. If corey cant get you a drop in " dont understand why he could not its what he does" then order a recone from psi. Just alil cleaning to the basket ro remove old glue,etc. Its pretty simple just dont over think it.

yes comes with everything except motor and basket..
