3 12" HDC3's?

well the time has come for me to get some more bass so im going to run 3 AudioQue HDC3's on 3 hk401sx's..

i did some measuring and it seems like im working with 35"W 15"H 28"D (i dont think i can get a bigger box unless i build it in the trunk, cause i still need room for batteries and amps and crap)

with those specs the box will be 6.93 cu.ft. will that be all right for 3 12" hdc3's?

next, is birch the lightest wood? because weight is becoming an iusse? and how light is it? compared to MDF

balsa is lighter than birch but if weight is an issue why not fiber glass with a birch frame and yes birch is lighter than mdf

Box seems a little small, but could work..... is that 6.93 cu ft after sub and port displacement?

You might get more for your money running two 12's with greater box volume and bigger port area.

Yeah 6.93 cubic feet gross net probably is not enough to properly run 3 12s ported. 2 12s ported, 3 10s ported, or 1 15 ported - those are you best options for that space. The 3 10s have the most cone area, but just barely more than the 2 12s.

You could get away with 3 12s ported in that space, but each would have to have a good bit less than 2 cubes net, and an undersized port.

well how is your 12's doing in 8cu? i think 6.93 will be enough..(hopefully and i already running 2 12's that why i want to set it up to 3..

balsa? how strong is that? and i dont know how to glass..

well i remeasured and i think i can squeeze in 7.45cu ft box but i know this thing will weight ALOT! im balsa is as light as you say it is..
