3 12" Alpine type R's

an ugly plywood box for around $250 that's tuned to like 40hz.... sound like a plan to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Are you trying to sound decent or just get loud?

but seriously, if you have the money to buy a TCAB I would do it, heard nothing but good things about them. Otherwise, get plans from someone on the forum if you want to do it yourself or have a shop/forum member build the box for you.

i run 3 type r 12's, so i feel somewhat able to help here.

if you want killer low end and sql, 7 cubes net @ 27hz, with 70-80 square inches of port area. that is my favorite alignment for sq, while still pulling 149s.

if you want to sacrifice that killer low end, but still sound really good and killer loud, do same enclosure but tune to 37hz. that for me was low 150s.

hope that helps.
