3-10 w6v2's hit 156db?

Well he definitely needs to mess with his amp because the bass is boomy sounding,if that makes since. It's just not a solid, punchy bass. Maybe the freq. aren't set right on the amp.
How would you think 3-alpine type r 10's would hold up to his system running off around 1300 watts rms. So about 433 wrms running to each some in exact same box, but in a beretta instead of a stratus?
He has a large box tuned high. Probably why it is boomy.

Alpine type-r subs are not as good as the W6v2 but can hold there own. If I were you I would choose to run 2 12's instead. The ohm load with 3 subs comes out wierd. So it's a bit harder to match an amp with the corect power.

Box is prefab, bought from a car audio store. But they make them in bulk, some guy out of kentucky makes them.
after that comment. it is just untrue that he hit 155 on the TL mic. there is no way in hell a prefab box made by some 'guy' who does them in bulk was - a: desinged for the jlw6v2, b: built for his car, c: tuned to a flat response

this is why his box sounds boomy (too high of a tuning to begin with) and he was prolly at a local shop. the shops i know of dont have mics, let alone have the newest of the new ones.

i highly doubt it.

They are descent boxes and are slot port(not that it matters, but they were designed around the jl audio subs)

Well, this is where i was talking about the guy talking sh** to my brother bc this is my brothers setup. He liked the guys box. So I measured it then built it, of course. My brothers hits way deeper with his 3 alpines compared to the 3- jl's.

The alpine 10's are wired to 2.67 ohms on a 2 ohm mono amp.

*Edit - My brothers setup hits around 144db on the new termlab, we know this for sure.

wow if i can hit 155+ with three 10's.....why the hell do i have 6 15's and a shiit load of power to light up a flucking block.....and loosing corgo space at the same time.

oooooohhhhh maybe because its not possible to hit those numbers with small drivers and make them daily driving cars.....unless...they do what that guy did at kicker.......he took 2 8L7's and put them in a 10cube ported box and sent 4 12oowatt kicker amps to hit 151db's...but we all know u cant hit that kind of number in a prefab...unless that dude with 3 10's started banging his windshield with the new tl mic and he cracked it that way and the bass just made the crack longer so he figured he can go around any say he cracked his windshield....can someone say expanding the truth?

lol

thank trig for backing me up

144db with three 10's sounds beleivable......i had 2 10w3's and i hit 142dbs @ 45hz..and that was in a 1990 ford turaus

do idMAX's blow W6's out the water?
Um, gotta be more specific. In sound quality? In output?

SQ is subjective, both are great sounding subs. The IDMax would have a little more displacement, so it'd likely have a little more output. Doubt it would be considered "blowing it out of the water" though.......
