2x MOFO 15's

Have you? if so, how are they in YOUR opinion? I have always wanted to try one...Let me know man, pm if you want, thanks
Yes I have actually. I made a box for a kid at NC (school in my city) for a 12" and in his diamante is was absolutely stunning the output that it makes. However, the sq is NOT something to look for when buying it, but it pounds and will please SPL heads quite easily. One of the loudest speakers under 300 dollars in my opinion.

how does it do as far as power handling?? with 1200rms to work with, would you push a 12" or a 15"? i could use the cone area if 1200 would push it well

You have obviously never heard a MOFO, so don't open your mouth to give your opinion.

Yeah actually.

Which is why I stand by my statement that Power Acoustik subs just arent that good of quality at all.

Given there are many variables that determine how a sub sounds, I still was not impressed at all with it.

Huge power handling, pretty large magnet, all they really offer. Other than horrible SQ.

I honestly couldn't tell you the specifics, but he had a ike sound refurb viper 1200.1 on it and the output was astounding. If you can afford it, I'd to the 15" for the cone area advantage, but don't take my word for it. I'm just a listener //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Is that so..Well, I advise you to sit in Dave (monte_carlo)'s car then get back to me with your opinion.

PV... do you think i should get these subs? I want a SQL system... but like

previously stated, leaning more toward the SQ side rather than the SPL side

My box is:

32 x 36 x 18

ported at 35 hz

something like 4.5 NET /per sub

dual 1 ohm subs.......?

tru

example:

1st sub VC1=1 ohm, 2nd coil=1 ohm.

wired in parallel (1 + 1 = .5)

2nd sub VC1=1 ohm, 2nd coil=1 ohm.

wired in parallel (1 + 1 = .5)

BOTH SUBS wired in series: (.5 + .5 = 1 fukin' ohm)

get it got it good

"clear as mudd??"...hehehuhuhaha

loud farts, big magnet, all they're good for.
They're good for benchpressing too. They come in a nice black crate/box, and are heavy bitches.

Anyway, they sound fine at moderate volumes. Throw the full 3000w you probably can't muster with your electrical system at it, and yeah, it might not sound so musical, but that won't matter, because you won't be able to hear shit anyway.

But still, if you actually mean "More SQ than SPL," and you understand that the majority of the rest of your setup is where "SQ" comes from, (producing oodles more frequencies than your subwoofer,) and you have that covered, then look at another sub for accurate low-end without [much] processing.

I'm not sure where it was written in stone that ANY subwoofer ALWAYS sounds like muddy frumps; You can probably get a decent curve out of an RFL with good processing and a nice enclosure.
