I started building my enclosure today that's going to be holding 2 12" dcons. (Once they actually ship them!!!)

It'll be 3.2 cubes @ 30 hz

This is only my second build so if anyone has any constructive criticism to give, I'm alright with it!

This is what I have so far:

Since I have no table saw, I just let lowed do the cutting. The dude working the saw was a smart guy and figured out how to make all the cuts fit on to one sheet of MDF. He just had to make the cuts 1/16 of an inch smaller. Shouldn't make to big of a difference on the tuning.

Also decided that I wasn't going to cut any corners, so I countersunk every screw and filled every seam and hole as i went along. Unfortunately, the clamps I have aren't nearly big enough, So I hope that doesn't do anything to mess up the glue job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I work for lowes and i have to say, YOU are a brave person for letting a big box do the cutting

Most of the time lowes and depots machines are NEVER accurate and always off by 1/4 of an inch (you should see my first box LOL)

Most workers dont understand that the saw blade used is 1/8 of an inch and needs to be counteded for

just got two complete boxes cut up by someone at home depot, first one is spot on, havent started the second one... good luck OP with your box.

Thanks everyone! I jigsawed the holes for the 12's and put up another wall.

The guy up here at lowes knows what he's doing. All the dimensions are really precise! It lines up great.

As for painting it, I think I'm just going to throw a coat or two of black paint on it for now.

I probably could have made the circles rounder...but it was my first time using a jigsaw so I think I did decent. It's pretty close to 11 3/16 all around.

Screws, glue & liquid nails is all you need lol. if you wanna cover up the screws, you countersink them like 1/16", rub a little bit of filler on top of the screw and then sand it down.
Thats what I did haha. I used the filler on the seam too because i thought in the end it would look better painted. But idk. This is only my second box im still learning about this stuff! haha. And what's the liquid nails for?
