2nd Box Build for 2 DD 1508's

Hey guys. This is my second ever box build and i have to say its going much more smoothly than the first time. The box is 1.75 ft^3 tuned @ 37 hz with 31.5 in^2 of port area. And also will have a double baffle and subs will be flush mounted. I started working on the box last night and making cuts. I have a few pieces assembled, but am gonna finish up assembling tomorrow night because tonight i was cutting 45's for the corners and didn't have much time. I don't have any pictures at the moment because i brought the box over to my friends house because he had the table saw that i could use and i forgot my camera. I will be taking pics tomorrow night of the progress and will post them up when i get home. Suggestions on the finish would be great. I could carpet it or paint it, but i'm not sure what i want to do. Car is a red ford focus. Anything that would look could would be great.

For all for subs? seems kinda small

I say paint the face of the box and wrap the rest in a material that matchs the interior color

The paint i used on my box comes in all kinds of colors i got it at Menards I can show it to you some time

size is good for those subs as long as its after displacements. i would have personally stepped up to 2 cubes. but get some pics up. i would paint it a glossy color, but thats me

nice let me know how it goes, im ordering my 3rd and 4th 1508 tonight and will start on my build this weekend for 4 1508's. ~ 3.75 cubes after disp on an IA 20.1

Sounds like a good plan. The last box you built for the 4 1508's came out really well so I'm sure this one will come out good too. Looking forward to the pics when ya can snap some.

Pics coming tonight. I'm finishing the box tonight and will have pix of it finished also. Gonna let it dry over night and test it out tomorrow night. It won't be carpeted yet. I'll get to that next week or this weekend.

Yea it would be very small for 4, but this build is only for 2 of the subs. I want to save some weight and have some trunk room until the summer, and i wanted to build a different box so i decided to do another build. And yea you'll have to show me what kind of paint you used. I might also do some plexi glass in the future on it because all i would have to do is cut a piece out of the top and double baffle the top.

I was thinking about going a little bigger, but i wanted a smaller box in the trunk so i went this small. Its just so i have some bang in the car, but i'll have room to put my baseball stuff in the trunk.

That should be nice. CF dustcap ones? And id love to see how that build goes and maybe get a chance to hear it. If you want my box design for the 4 1508's i have shoot me a pm and i can get that to you.

Thank you. To be honest i think this one is gonna come out much better. Its much easier the second time around and this box will have a double baffle, so the subs will be flush mounted. I'm also going to carpet this box so it will look alot cleaner.

Pictures added. Didn't get as far as i wanted to tonight. Started late and ran out of time. I got the first front baffle on and the port in and connected. I'm gonna let it dry overnight and then put the 45s in and put the top and 2nd baffle on. I also have to clean off the box as you can see theres glue left on it, but it doesn't really matter because i will be carpeting it. What do you guys think?

Just finished the build. Didn't turn out too bad. Still gotta sand everything down and do a finish to the box. Kind of rushed through everything so i'm not too proud of it, but it works for now. Its not the best, but its alright. And i know the port area does not go out as far as the double baffle. I'm gonna fix that. Just didn't have time tonight.

what are you going to do to fix that? you should have put the second baffle on the inside of the box..

Yea i should have, but all it takes is taking some of the scraps and cutting them to fit. It won't take very long to do that.
