I have a Audison Bit One, 2 JL 10WT3, JL HD900/5 amp and Focal Access series 2 each: 690AC, 570AC and TN43.

I play loud classic rock, heavy metal. Had system installed in June 2014. A couple months after i noticed front right channel would drop intermittently. thought it was patch cable, so replaced. seemed to fix issue. then a few months later the left started dropping and then the TN43 stopped working. Started troubleshooting with installer over phone, he is 14 hours away. I found at this point every time the amp would clip the left front would drop. he sent me new tweet and 690AC. I adjusted gains and made sure that the loudest i played it wasn't clipping. now 3 months later same exact thing, only right side.

BTW, after the right blew, yesterday i started watching for the clip light and again, amp clip, right front dropped.

What i did find with left, and didn't think much of it until i noticed it on the right as well, the clips for the positive and ground were loose.

i asked the installer if a speaker, while playing at high volume, starts cutting in and out could it blow a tweet or the driver. He said no. Can i get some opinions here. Am i just over driving? i have a good ear, being a musician, and i don't hear any distortion.

TIA.

Would you mind explaining this for me? I'm not sure what you're saying, you just so happened to be watching the light and watched the clipping light go on, and then the speaker "dropped." Do you mean it stopped playing for a second and came back? Did it stop playing all together(blown)? If one speaker alone is cutting out intermittently, then I would look a the wiring.

If your amp is hard clipping at high volumes then you're definitely going to blow a speaker, but it sounds like you readjusted your gains and attempted to keep it away from clipping this time around. Have you looked at the speaker connections and wiring?
