that means you need an amp that is 250wrms for the sub. max power is almost useless

That it is rated to take 250rms...1000w peak is for people to send 1000w to it, blow it and buy another one, or as some people call it a marketing scheme..Its pointless...

peak+useless something you'll never really see and generally used to make a amp "seem" more powerful
