250rms amp...what can i do with it??!!

alright thanks for all the help guys. the re sr looks pretty nice and it seems yall have good things to say about re. i really dont care much about sq...i know a 250watt powered sub cant get tooo loud but i want harder hits rather than sq.

alright i found it on woofersetc.com.....is this the recomended site? its on there for $80 which is appealing. have yall heard one of this first hand with 250rms going to it? i dont wanna go through with this and not hear it too much. im sure this is louder then a memphis

edit: it shows the rms rating to be 175 watts

this is 300rms http://cgi.ebay.com/RE-AUDIO-SR12-12-CAR-SUB-WOOFER-SUBWOOFER-SR-12-D4-new_W0QQitemZ390018936088QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Subwoofers_Enclosures?hash=item390018936088&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
FYI - That's not an SR12, that's an RE12. This is an SR12 - http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=4907

yea thanks for pointing that out. i noticed last night something was fishy when i posted the link to that 175rms sub. on another note i found a brand new SR 12 on ebay for 100 shipped. and to the other question, i just want maximum bass quite honestly. i havnt heard enough sq subs to even notice the difference in sq. before i follow through with this SR12 for 100 is there any more suggestions?

ok i know im bringing up a dead thread. im set on the re sr12 12' and was wondering if i should go with the recomended 1.50 cu.ft. ported enclosure, or go with something a little bigger and still ported. as stated earlier i want loudness more than sq. i did a search i promise. thanks for all the help thus far

Go with the recommended 1.5 at 35hz. You could go a little bigger say 2 at 35hz, but it won't be a much louder. Just be sure to give it at least 28sq" to 34sq" of rectangular port area on 2 cubic feet. Or a 6" round port or 2 4" round ports.

This will work.

i posted on here off and on lookin for advice and honestly still dont know enough about the car audio industry to really kno what to do. i told myself i would sell my jl slash 250/1 for something bigger...easier said then done. i recieved the amp for free so might as well keep it. i am not lookin to bring the house down but what sub would run at 250rms, sound loud for the wattage, and cost around $100 or less. I heard a memphis sub that ran at 250rms and it impressed me. i looked online to find out its not easy to find online. is there another 250rms sub i should look at? appreciate the help guys.
IDmax

ported at 33hz, prob 1.8 cub ft.

it'll get nice and low and sound pretty good.

enough to get a little daily bump.

Yes, the 250/1 is made before the 250/1v2.
None that I can think of, unless you were going to run more than one sub, in your case, you shouldn't be.
I remember seeing some data on the 500/1 where it made max power at 2ohm. Somewhere around 680watts rms(other resistances where in the low 600's). I would suspect that the sweet spot for the 250/1 would be the same. Someone correct me if im wrong.
