2400w RMS too much for my car?

I have a Dodge Neon with a stock alt, 90A i believe. I just recently bought a Directed 2400D. I plan on doing the big 3 with 1/0awg. I was wondering if this is going to be too big of a strain on my electrical system? Right now I have a JBL BP1200.1 but I didn't do the big 3 on it and I dont get dimmage. But sometimes I'll be playing music pretty loud and my amp will power down and not put out as much power for a short while and then come back on to fullpower later. Or thats what it seems to be doing. Is this because my battery is getting on power or is it the amp doing it as a safety feature?

I was also wondering if putting the 2400D in my car would be a bad idea because I think my electrical system is a bit messed up right now. My "Service Engine Soon" like comes on and goes off but my car runs fine. And sometimes when I shift my E-Brake light will come on randomly and turn off. So I kno my electrical system is pretty effed right now...so would putting this amp in my car just lead to more problems or does an amp not really affect other electronics in my car?

Thanks

you could sell it but doubling the power to those mags will be killer....
Killer as in kill the mags or as in "**** that shit is loud as ****." ? Im pretty sure they will handle 2400w no prob, I had one going with 1200w for a few months, it was fine and then i upgraded to 2 mags.

Id say upgrade to a yellow top or equivelent battery, and you should be fine (with big 3). If you need more, upgrade to a 2nd battery with an isolator.

they will handle that power just fine. he means killer as in that it will pound like hell.

id say you would need some pretty significant electrical upgrades to get that kind of power out of that amp though. big three definitly, at least one extra battery, and very possibly a bigger alt. a 90 amp alt, especially a stock one..., will not cut it. and if your voltage gets low, you risk doing some significant damage. but i believe that amp should have a protection circuit (not sure).

Thanks for the suggestions. For now I think I I'm just gonna hook it up with the big 3 and not blast it everywhere i go. I may look into getting an yellow top soon or a 2nd battery. Any1 know the link on how to hook up a separate battery cause I have no clue how to do that.

Thanks
