im about to buy a fosgate power stage 1 for about 230 shipped from sound domain...i was wondering if you guys could suggest a better sub for about the same price? its gonna have about 900w rms running to it at 2 ohms...and i think its gonna be in a ported box. Im lookin for a good mix between sq/spl. Thanks !

For about the same money, Id choose two Shiva's, one Magnum, a pair of SE's, maybe a pair of LI's, a single IDMax or a used XXX/Brahma/SX before Id chose that RF sub. Ive owned RF subs before, imo they just aren't worth the money, none Ive been around yet anyway.

I think with 900 watts any of the subs/combo's I mentioned would work well, except maybe the XXX, they like a bit more power. The price range is changing though, it started at $240 iirc, and is down to what, 188 now? That's less than any of my suggestions. But if you are still willing to spend around that amount, I think any of the subs I said would be a solid system. Great products from great companies. As for which one exactly, some of that will depend on the impedances, as your amp maxes at 2ohm. Im not sure the nominal impedance of all the subs I mentioned, but a simple search would give you that info for any of them you would be interested.

I think my best advice would be hang out here a while, dont get in a hurry to order a sub this week. Read this board and get an idea for yourself what suits your tastes/needs best.

I always liked rf subs, theyve been good to me. $230 isnt too bad. i found it on ebay for 210.00 shipped. so it aint that much of a difference. go with the rf. they last forever

most of those subs youlisted are dual 4 i think. except shiva which is dual 8 and xxx which is dual 2. for 250 + shipping i love y SX. it hits hard for just 1 Sub.

audioholic, I suggest you listen to the new power's. They get super loud and sound good doing it. RF is back once again like they were so may years ago.

oh, and am guessing you're another 19 year old that knows nothing but internet talk and bandwagons to jump on right? You need not to jump to conclusions just becasue someone ownes all the same equipment. How many years have you been in car audio 3-4 years.

I run RF because they do what they are suspose to do, work. I have yet to send in 1 RF amp for service except for a power 250m2 ( before your time) that I took as a trade. THEN RF replaced the entire board for 100.00. Not bad considering that amp retailed for over 500.00 new. I have owed JL, Kicker, PPI, Clarion, Kenwood, Memphis, Alpine, and was considering ED subs some time ago but we will not go there.

If it wasn't for mainstream getting out to the world about car audio throught mainstram advertising and sponsorships your internet companies would not be alive. I don't have a problem with internet compaines. Its when people like you think they are the best in the world just because they are different. I know for fact the Adire and Re have awesome subs. I really want to try some re 8's but for the power I have 4 will not hadle the bd1000.1 i have. I have been told that by several people that push RE and run it.

If you blew the hx2 and the bd series amps then it was your user error or you bought jacked up equipment.
