220 amp alternator to small?

is a 220 amp HO alt to small to run 2 audioque HDC3's 12" on a audioque 2200d amp? ill be getting a big 3 upgrade. and ill get a separate battery for the amp.(if needed)

also how much would it be to run dual alternators?(besides the original cost of the alternator it self)?

220 amps is the biggest my cars alt can be so i was thinking if thats to small to run my set up i'd get one HO alt for all my audio sh!!t and just have the original 90amp alt run all the stuff its already running on the car. suggestions?

depends if it does a true 220amps. also what the alt will do at idle, and how high you have the volume at idle

what does your stock alt do? If it's decent you could get by with 2 G31 batts in the rear...

somewhere on here i've read in multiple instances a G31 per 2k watts, and theres guys running 3-4k on stock 90-130amp alts, use the biggest bat you can fit up front, 2 D3100's or HC2400's or Deka9a31's whatever floats your boat in the back, 1/0 big 3 and everything else and you should be fine.

I ran a 15 HDC3 and a 2200D on a stock alt (130 amp) without issues, but I added a rear battery just to be safe.

x2 and I wouldn't waste my $$$ on a cheapo HO alt, so unless you can get a reputable one, then don't bother. DC gets my vote...
